Are you going to watch humanity dying in Gaza by your silence – Part 1
Sorry I am writing to you and you don’t know me, Actually I do know you will not be able to help me, so just read it and forward it may be some one can, it is not personal matter it is all Palestinians matter, no forgive me it is all humanity matter.
Since July 2013, Egypt Authority closed Rafah crossing on the Gaza border which is the only terminal for passengers not controlled by Israel, Due to Israel’s land, sea and air blockade, the terminal is the only border crossing that most of Gaza’s 1.8 million people can use to leave the strip.
Thousands of Palestinians, including students and patients are stuck at both sides of Rafah border.
Of course there is nothing new, you already know that?
Ok, but did you know, a Palestinian woman who suffered from cancer died on 9th of March 2014 because of the closure? Is that ok?
Do you know universal declaration of human rights said that “Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country” and said that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.” ?
And we are in Gaza don’t have these rights even we don’t know the meaning of moving freely or what is the meaning of adequate living standards for health.
Why I am telling you this?
We have 12,600 cancer patients in the Gaza Strip, 53% female and 47% male, according to statistics published by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip. These figures came to complement a 2012 fact sheet issued by the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, which stated that about 900 cancer cases were recorded annually, with breast cancer accounting for 16.5%. And for sorry we cannot provide the treatment for them locally they have to leave outside through Rafah border to be treated in Egypt or any other country. – Al monitor.
there are 20 critical case needs to travel urgently, in addition to 300 patient waiting their turn to leave for treatment, these cases includes Epilepsy and tumors, general surgery, heart patients, cases of bone fractures, kidneys and nerves and eyes
My brother 20 years old is also suffering from Cancer, I don’t want him to die, I want to see his graduation and to see his wedding, his course had to be done since 3 months and because of the closing of Rafah border he could not make it
So we don’t have many choices, , we have to leave Gaza from Rafah crossing and you must help us, this is your duty if you believe in humanity and the roles declared in the universal declaration of human rights
